Panagia Armata Chapel & Spetses Lighthouse
37° 15.8′ N · 23° 10.0′ E
The white chapel built after the 1822 naval victory and one of Greece's first lighthouses (1830s), on the cape at the mouth of the Old Harbour — with Natalia Mela's sculptures among the pines.
Practical
Coordinate is the OSM major-light node. The 27 m lighthouse is still working; the chapel was built 1824–1830 by Captain Ioannis Koutsis to commemorate the defeat of the Ottoman fleet on 8 September 1822. A good sunset walk; the area is the focus of the Armata celebrations.
Best for
Sunset walk from the Old Harbour anchorage
