Preveza Town Quay

38° 57.6′ N · 20° 45.3′ E

A long town quay right on Preveza's pedestrian waterfront, lined with cafes, ouzeries and bars that party late in summer. It is the cheapest berth in the area and a lively, very Greek town to provision in, at the gateway to the Ambracian Gulf and the Lefkas canal.

Practical

Berth stern-to or alongside in about 5 m; fixed mooring points ashore (mySea). Lay out a lot of chain and stay well off the quay: ship traffic and current in the channel (Noonsite: up to 3 knots) set up swell and surge. Noonsite (2019): mooring is not free in season, about EUR 6/day for a Lagoon 400, plus water and power from pedestals activated by a prepaid chip bought from the Port Authority representative; verify locally. Water and electricity cover only about 200 m of the quay in front of the cafes (older Noonsite note). Fuel comes by mini-tanker. Several Noonsite users report short-measured deliveries from quay tankers, so watch the meter start at zero, use jerry cans of known volume, or pay only for what goes in. Expect late-night music noise in summer. Port of entry: Port Police on the waterfront (see Preveza Port Police).

Best for

A budget town berth with full provisioning and nightlife
