Peak-Season Crowding (Paxos & Syvota)
39° 11.9′ N · 20° 11.1′ E · approximate
From late June to August the northern Ionian is at its busiest. Flotillas, charter fleets from Corfu and Lefkas, and day-trip boats fill Gaios, Lakka, Mongonisi, Antipaxos and Syvota.
Practical
Coordinate is approx: it is a label at Gaios harbour. Noonsite users counted over 70 masts in Lakka by early evening in June; about half of Lakka's dock is reserved for flotillas. Boote calls Paxos 'pretty crowded in summer' and says flotillas often anchor at Mongonisi. A July 2019 blog found Gaios and Mongonisi both full. Tactics: arrive by early afternoon, do Antipaxos early in the morning or late afternoon, and use Plataria, Longos (in calm weather) or the Ambracian Gulf as quieter alternatives. May-June and September are noticeably easier.
