Practical

Coordinate is the SailingIssues waypoint "Lixouri" (N38°12.225' E20°26.482'); Sea-Seek gives 38°12.27'N 20°26.36'E, VHF channel 12, port tel +30 26710 94100, depth 3–4 m, and warns of surge in the prevailing wind. Port Authority office on the waterfront (OSM). Wikipedia's 38.300, 20.417 is the municipal unit, not the port. Use the south basin of the large port in bad weather or darkness; lie alongside there — holding is bad in soft mud. Elsewhere the anchor holds only once it penetrates the soft top layer. The small harbour is entered through a channel sometimes marked by three pairs of buoys; the first basin is usually filled by local boats. No electricity, often no water. Fees reported 'very expensive'. 2014 earthquake damage mostly repaired.
