Arvanitia Beach & Promenade

37° 33.8′ N · 22° 47.9′ E

Nafplio's in-town swimming spot: a small pebble beach tucked under Akronafplia, reached by a paved coastal promenade carved into orange rock below the fortress walls. The walk from the harbour is one of the loveliest town strolls in Greece.

Practical

Coordinate is the mapped beach (OSM 'Παραλία Αρβανιτιά'); Greeka places it at 37.5631, 22.7991. The promenade ('Round of Arvanitia') links the small port to the beach; sections occasionally close for rockfall — obey fences (Greeka). A summer-season bus to Karathona leaves from near the KTEL station. From Arvanitia an unpaved but easy path continues about 2 km through pines to Neraki and Karathona beaches. Not an anchorage — the beach faces the open gulf.

Best for

A swim and a promenade walk without moving the boat
