Tsankari Bay (Agathonisi)

37° 27.1′ N · 26° 58.3′ E

A south-coast bay sheltered from the north wind but with tricky, rocky holding.

Practical

More rock and weed than the neighbouring bays; the bottom drops quickly and most of the bay is too deep. Best: anchor on the weedy-looking sand patch in the middle at 8–10 m with two lines to the north or NW shore; don't leave the boat unattended (Sailing Issues). Grecosailor: one crew failed to set after five attempts — use a buoy if available.

Best for

Experienced crews only
