Trianta (Ialysos) Bay

36° 25.8′ N · 28° 11.4′ E

A wide-open bay on Rhodes' north-west coast backed by resort hotels: a calm-weather stop near the airport, with ancient Ialysos and Filerimos on the hill behind.

Practical

Sailing Issues: fit only in very light winds, preferably SE–E. Anchor in 4–8 m on sand with good holding; mySea also rates it good. Expect parasailing, jet-skis and banana boats. Exposed to the prevailing NW: leave when the meltemi fills in.

Best for

Light-wind lunch stop; base for Filerimos

Season

Light SE–E winds only
