36° 26.0′ N · 27° 22.0′ E · approximate

Tilos is a protected Natura 2000 island and Important Bird Area with more than 125 wild bird species. About 10% of the world's Eleonora's falcons, some 650 pairs, breed on its sea cliffs, hunting migrating songbirds in late summer.

Practical

Wikipedia (citing the Hellenic Ornithological Society and the EU LIFE-Nature programme on Tilos) gives 650 breeding pairs of Eleonora's falcon, which nests in colonies on coastal cliffs and breeds unusually late, in late summer and early autumn. Wikivoyage: more than 125 species, a quarter of them in Annex I of the EU Birds Directive; an EU Special Protection Area and BirdLife Important Bird Area; the surrounding sea has Mediterranean monk seals and bottlenose and striped dolphins. Visit Greece mentions shags in Livadia bay. Coordinate is the island centre (Wikipedia), approximate: watch the cliffs from the boat or from footpaths. Bonelli's eagle on Tilos is not confirmed by the sources used here.
