St George Islet Anchorage (Agios Georgios, Kastellorizo)

36° 8.8′ N · 29° 36.1′ E

A sand patch south of the little islet of Agios Georgios, east of Mandraki, with clear water and a beach. A Grecosailor reviewer called it 'truly a paradise'.

Practical

Position: Grecosailor 'St. George Beach South' 36°08'49.3"N 29°36'06.3"E. The reviewer anchored in 9 m on sand, over a sand and rock seabed. The coast guard visited and reminded them to check in the next day with an agent confirmed. OSM maps a beach restaurant on the islet ('Saint George Beach - Aya Yorgi', 36.14961, 29.60211), which is busy with day-trip boats. Grecosailor reports orange visitor mooring buoys elsewhere around Kastellorizo, with chain to concrete blocks and a large top ring, but not all with rope strops: add a second line through the ring if you stay overnight. Do not stray into the islets further east (Kovan Adası, Heybeli Adası), which are Turkish: entering them without clearing into Turkey is not allowed.

Best for
