Skantzoura Limani

39° 4.1′ N · 24° 6.7′ E

The only permitted anchorage on Skantzoura, a low, remote island 18 km south-east of Alonissos with the ruins of an 18th-century monastery — an ideal stop en route to Skyros.

Practical

Zone A5: online park ticket required. Anchor in Limani bay only, between sunrise and sunset per the official rules; landing and beach use allowed. North cove (39.06883, 24.11402): one or two yachts, small beach, line to either side; if full, a tiny cove 250 m NW gets you closer to shore. South cove (39.06579, 24.11405): good sand with little weed; a plastic bottle marks a permanent mooring (thick rope, SW corner) — use a trip line; N–NE winds bend round and blow from the NW here (Sailing Issues). Note: Wikipedia lists Skantzoura in Zone B, but the park's own zoning places it in Zone A.
