Posidonio Cove (Samos)
37° 42.6′ N · 27° 3.3′ E
Maybe the best-protected cove on Samos, tucked under the island's eastern tip opposite Turkey, with a couple of fish tavernas and holiday houses ashore.
Practical
Holding is the catch: CruisersWiki reports weed and loose mud that drags in gusts and advises always using two anchors, while my-sea reports sand with good holding in 5-10 m or shorelines - set carefully and test. Prevailing summer winds are NW-NE, but strong SE gusts can come in the afternoon. A private underwater mooring (Mr. Soutos) may be usable briefly. Posidonio Restaurant (W) and Taverna Merien (E) usually have fresh fish; small basic-provisions store. No transport except a taxi from Pythagorio. Border waters - Turkey is about 1 nm away.
Best for
Meltemi shelter at the eastern tip
