Platania Bay & Kolios (Skiathos)

39° 8.3′ N · 23° 25.8′ E

A wide bay on Skiathos' south coast sheltered from the prevailing northerlies, with the small Kolios inlet on its east side.

Practical

Kolios is crowded with local mooring buoys, so it is probably not an option. Anchor on the far west side of Platania (this position), safe in NW to NE winds; a line ashore is possible. Hazard: the Marinos/Marines rocks and reef (Sailing Issues).

Best for

Meltemi shelter on the south coast

Season

Good in NW–NE winds
