Panteli Bay (Leros)

37° 9.0′ N · 26° 51.8′ E

A picturesque fishing harbour below the castle and windmills on the east coast. Yachts anchor off and dinghy in for boiled octopus at the waterfront tavernas.

Practical

The little harbour is for fishing boats; a sign reported in 2009 restricts it. Anchor or Med-moor SW of the harbour in about 6–7 m on sand and weed. It's very good in north winds but open to the east and south. A short dinghy ride lands you at the beach under the castle. The harbour is popular for its fish tavernas, cafés and bars, and for stocking up. Psaropoula is known for its lobster with kritharaki.
