The Knights-era Castle of Leros crowns the ridge above Platanos, with a row of restored windmills below it. The view sweeps over Panteli, Vromolithos, Alinda and Lakki Bay at once.

Walk up from Platanos or from Panteli. Inside: the tiny Ecclesiastical Museum and the church of Panagia Kyra (about 1300 AD), with a carved iconostasis and frescoes. Leros.gr notes the castle and four windmills on the hill above Platanos, which make a striking sight from Alinda Bay. Go at sunset.
