Molyvos (Mithymna) Harbour

39° 22.1′ N · 26° 10.1′ E

A small, picture-perfect harbour of fishing caiques and waterfront tavernas beneath the stone houses and Genoese castle of Molyvos, often called one of the most beautiful villages in Greece.

Practical

Grecosailor: a town quay with excellent protection even in strong north-westerlies, no fees and free water (undated report, verify locally); harbour tel +30 22530 71847. One guide gives about 2–4 m depth and calls it a small sheltered quay; space is limited, so arrive early in summer. yachting.com says the port is protected from all winds including the meltemi. Port police at Mithymna handle DEKPA/entry paperwork for yachts that arrive at Petra (Noonsite 2018). Outside the harbour, Congas Beach (39.3672, 26.1731) has sand patches in front of the old olive-oil mill (avoid the slippery weed) but is open to the south. Supermarkets and bakeries in the village; fuel by arrangement.
