Maltezana (Analipsi) Bay & Quay (Astypalaia)
36° 34.6′ N · 26° 23.2′ E
Maltezana is Astypalaia's second village, on a broad bay in the eastern 'wing' next to the airport, with a fishing quay, a sandy beach and Roman bath mosaics of the seasons and zodiac.
Practical
MarinaTips (Port Analipsi): a small town pier crowded with fishing boats; no water or electricity on the quay, but a public tap a few metres east. The bay's sand and seagrass give good anchor holding. Moderate protection; none from N and NW, so avoid strong northerlies. Very close to the airport. Katerina Mini Market and tavernas ashore (OSM). aegeanislands.gr lists 'Anchorage Analipsi' among sailors' services and describes the Tallara Roman baths with mosaics of the seasons and zodiac (OSM 36.5797, 26.3873). Schinontas beach to the east is shallow, with seafood restaurants (Greeka).
