Halki water & fuel (Emborio)

36° 13.4′ N · 27° 36.8′ E · approximate

Halki has no natural water supply, but yachts on the Emborio pontoon have been given water free of charge. Fuel has to be arranged in advance.

Practical

Position approx: the Emborio yacht pontoon (see 'Emborio Harbour (Halki)'). Water: Sailing Issues (2024) and a Grecosailor reviewer report free water at the pontoon. mySea lists water, power and sanitary facilities, but Sailing Issues says there is no electricity. Wikipedia: water comes from cisterns and a desalination plant (operating as of 2014), and shortages can occur in summer, so use it sparingly. Fuel: no filling station is mapped in Emborio. Grecosailor lists fuel among the harbour's services but advises arranging water and fuel ahead; ask harbour master Statis (+30 694 085 9419, per Sailing Issues). Otherwise fill up in Rhodes (Mandraki tanker or the Rhodes Marina fuel berth), about 25 nm away.
