Christoforos Wreck (Panormos Bay, Skopelos)

39° 6.6′ N · 23° 39.1′ E · approximate

An 83 m cargo ship sitting upright and intact on sand in Panormos Bay, as if still under way. It was off limits until November 2018, so it is unusually well preserved.

Practical

Approximate position: the operator says the wreck is about 0.3 nm by boat from its Panormos base, so this point is derived from the Adrina base position into Panormos Bay. Do not anchor on the wreck; dive only with Skopelos Dive Center. The wreck appears at about 15 m, the deck is at 32-35 m and the dive profile is 30-40 m. Advanced certification plus a check dive or tune-up dive first; a personal dive computer is required (rentable). Divers descend on a line. It is usually explored over 2-4 dives, one deep dive per day.
