Chalares Gorge Trail (Christos Raches to Nas)

37° 37.2′ N · 26° 3.7′ E · approximate

A waymarked route down the protected Chalaris (Halari) river gorge from the mountain village of Christos Raches to Nas beach, through plane trees, rock pools, small waterfalls and old stone bridges.

Practical

Anavasi: marked route with many branches; the most popular start is Christos (alternative start at the dam). A canyoning route also runs through the gorge. A shorter option from Nas is to walk up the riverbed from the beach to a small waterfall and pool. Arrange a taxi between Nas and Christos Raches (about 5 km apart by Wikipedia's position). Nas is an open roadstead - in calm weather only; otherwise come by car from Evdilos. Position is the lower gorge just above Nas beach (approx), derived from the Nas Beach entry.
