Areta Bay (Halki)

36° 14.7′ N · 27° 35.9′ E · approximate

A narrow, cliff-walled inlet with a tiny beach on Halki's north coast. It is a settled-weather lunch stop away from the harbour crowds.

Practical

Position approx: centre of the Grecosailor map pin for 'Areta Beach'; the point may be at the head of the inlet rather than at an anchoring spot. Grecosailor names it among Halki's anchorages but gives no depth or holding data, so approach slowly, sound your way in and expect to take a line ashore. The north coast is open to the prevailing N–NW meltemi: settled weather only.

Best for

Remote calm-day swim stop
