Aloni Taverna (Xirokampos)

37° 6.6′ N · 26° 52.2′ E

A family taverna at Xirokampos, the quiet south-coast bay. It's known for home cooking, fresh seafood and swordfish with garlic purée, with Greek wine and ouzo.

Practical

Greek traditional, $$ (Greeka). Wikivoyage recommends the swordfish with garlic purée. A 2016 Noonsite cruiser report counted three places to eat at Xirokampos, two on the beachfront and one inland. Both beachfront restaurants had laid coloured moorings, with the expectation that you eat there at least once every two days on their buoy (the east-side one was cheaper). No grocery store, minimarket or bakery in the village, so arrive provisioned. Check the current mooring arrangement locally. Coordinate from OpenStreetMap node 5533626512.
