36° 38.1′ N · 24° 54.6′ E

A quiet bay at the island's narrowest point on the north coast, below Chora. It is a refuge in southerly or westerly weather, when the usual anchorages are exposed.

Practical

Position from Grecosailor (36°38'04.9"N 24°54'34.7"E): sand, with excellent protection from southerly wind and swell; the rocky walls should hold off stronger southerlies, though slight swell is possible. Sailing Issues: quiet, suitable in southerlies and westerlies only, and a 25-minute footpath to Chora. folegandros.gr: a steep 20-minute path from the Chora–Ano Meria road after the Agia Paraskevi church. Fully exposed in the meltemi.
