Sikinos Southern Bay (Meltemi Refuge)

36° 38.2′ N · 25° 4.8′ E

A remote bay near Sikinos's southern tip, facing Kardiotissa and Folegandros. The high land breaks the meltemi to a fraction of its strength outside.

Practical

Position from Grecosailor (36°38'11.4"N 25°04'47.6"E). Rock and grass with patches of sand. The crew used two anchors and saw 15-20 kn inside against 40 kn outside. Ferry swell was 30-50 cm. No shore facilities and no road. A useful staging point for the crossing to Folegandros (about 6.5 nm west).
