Saliagos Islet (Neolithic site)
37° 2.9′ N · 25° 5.7′ E
A tiny islet in the Paros-Antiparos strait that holds the oldest known settlement in the Cyclades, a Neolithic village excavated in 1964-65 that yielded obsidian arrowheads, pottery and the marble 'Fat Lady of Saliagos'.
Practical
Excavated by Colin Renfrew and J. D. Evans (Wikipedia). There is little to see above ground, but it is a good landmark: it sits in the shallow part of the channel near Revmatonisi, so treat it as a hazard marker rather than a landing. Position from the OpenStreetMap islet outline.
Best for
Archaeology-minded crews transiting the strait
