Antiparos Town Harbour
37° 2.4′ N · 25° 5.1′ E
The small harbour of Antiparos Chora, with a ferry dock and fishing jetty beside a lively waterfront. The Venetian kastro and the tavernas are a short walk away.
Practical
Sailingissues: there is room for about 18 yachts stern-to on the south side of the long breakwater by the square ferry dock, far fewer if catamarans or motor yachts are present. Keep a metre off the underwater ballast, because the small car ferries throw significant wash. You can stay even in strong northerlies. Inside the port the holding is good but it is too shallow for larger yachts and exposed ENE to SE; most catamarans and many yachts anchor off instead (Sailingissues marker 37.04091 N, 25.08681 E). mySea: when space allows, moor bow- or stern-to in up to 2.5 m, but much of the harbour is 1 m or less. You can anchor east of the jetty in about 3 m, or go stern-to the south part of the breakwater with lines ashore. A south wind brings a dangerous swell, and ferry wash is frequent. Fuel and water are listed (mySea; Kavas), and Barbaros notes fuel and water can be arranged through local agents. Kavas warns that the northern part of the channel is shallow, so approach from the south. Antiparos Port Authority: +30 22840 61485. Position from the mySea harbour entry. Fuel: sources disagree. mySea lists a fuel station and water at the harbour, and Kavas says fuel and water are available, but MarineLink says refuelling is generally not available in Antiparos itself and boats may need to go to Paros. Barbaros says fresh water and fuel are arranged through local agents, so book a delivery in advance or fill up at Parikia or Naoussa. The nearest road fuel stations (EKO and Elinoil) are on the main road south of the Chora, useful only for jerry cans (see Antiparos Road Fuel Stations). Port police: see Antiparos Port Authority (Limeniko). Depths in the harbour area do not exceed about 5 m (Kavas); MarineLink gives 2-4 m. Keep clear of the Pounta car-ferry route when anchoring off.
