Platys Gialos Mooring Zones (Port Fund rules)
37° 24.7′ N · 25° 20.7′ E · approximate
Platys Gialos jetty and bay are split into Port Fund zones: service berths for the sea-taxi caiques, a residents' anchorage and a separate yacht anchorage offshore.
Practical
Port Fund memo 'Platys Gialos Regulation': Zone 1 is one berth for a day ship and short-time service at the harbour slip. Zone 2 is for cruise service boats. Zone 3 is short-time service for boats 2-7 m (dinghies and tenders). Zone 4 is anchorage for permanent residents of Mykonos. Zone 5 is the yacht anchorage. Petrol bunkering is allowed only for boats in Zones 1-2, and only from 8pm to 9am. The zone plan shows Zones 4 and 5 as circles offshore, east of the jetty, with Zone 5 the southern one. The memo gives no coordinates, so ask the Port Fund (marina@mykonosports.gr) or the Port Authority (+30 22890 22218) where Zone 5 lies before you drop the hook. Keep outside the beach swimmer buoys. Position is approximate and matches the Platis Gialos Bay entry.
