Panermos Coast Snorkel (Naxos south-east)
36° 57.5′ N · 25° 32.1′ E · approximate
Crystal-clear water over sand, pebbles and rock along the remote Panermos coves, below the prehistoric acropolis, with no road traffic and few people.
Practical
Greeka describes crystal-clear water and a quieter cove behind the acropolis reachable on foot; a cafe rents SUPs. Snorkel along the rocky sides of the bay rather than the middle, where boats anchor. Sailingissues warns of the Dilos reef on the approach and severe NE gusts down the valley, so leave a reliable anchor watch aboard. Trail 15 runs along this coast from Panermos to Kalantos (see Panermos–Rina–Kalantos Coast Trail (Trail 15)). Position approx: the west side of the bay, derived from the OSM beach and the existing anchorage position.
