Loutra Hot Springs (Kythnos)
37° 26.5′ N · 24° 25.6′ E
Two thermal springs rise at Loutra. Kakavos reaches 52 C and is rich in sodium iodide, bromide and chloride, and the saline Agioi Anargyroi spring rises inside the 19th-century bathhouse that King Otto and Queen Amalia visited.
Practical
The bathhouse still operates in summer, where you can soak in marble tubs for a modest fee (Wikipedia). Hours and prices were not verified, so check locally. The baths were designed by Christian Hansen in 1836 and built from 1839; the reservoir dates from 1838. A municipal thermal spring (Thermopigi Lutron) is mapped on the waterfront about 150 m from the marina. The Mesolithic site of Maroulas (c. 9000-8000 BC) is on the shore a few hundred metres north. Position from OpenStreetMap.
