Livadi Bay (Despotiko south)

36° 57.3′ N · 25° 0.0′ E

A wide sand bay on Despotiko's south coast with a triangular silver-sand beach. Sailingissues rates it meltemi-proof, and antiparos.com calls Livadi the most beautiful beach on the island.

Practical

Sailingissues: uncharted; open SE to SW; more swinging room than Gamma cove; solid sand holding; meltemi-proof. mySea logs 3-6 m over sand and seaweed with good holding at almost exactly the same spot. Leave if the wind turns south. Uninhabited: no facilities. Natura 2000 area with monk seals and Posidonia (Wikipedia), so anchor in clear sand. Position from the Sailingissues marker (mySea's marker is within 10 m).

Best for

Quiet meltemi night under Despotiko's south shore

Season

Jun-Sep meltemi shelter; open SE-SW
