Tsimintiri Islet (Despotiko channel)
36° 58.6′ N · 25° 1.1′ E
The small islet in the strait between Despotiko and Antiparos, where excavators have also found ancient remains. The water around it is shallow enough to suggest the three islands were once joined by an isthmus.
Practical
Wikipedia: the strait is at most about 1 m deep, suggesting Despotiko, Koimitiri and Antiparos may once have been linked by an isthmus, at least until the Hellenistic period. Antiparos.com reports a 2024 excavation season at Despotiko-Tsimintiri, and OpenStreetMap marks an archaeological site on the islet. For boats it is mainly a hazard: Sailingissues warns of a sudden shallow area in the NW corner of the Despotiko anchorage under Tsimintiri. Explore by dinghy or by swimming. Position from the OpenStreetMap islet outline.
