Little Venice (Mykonos)

37° 26.8′ N · 25° 19.6′ E

A row of 18th-century sea captains' houses whose painted wooden balconies hang right over the water. It's the Aegean's most famous sunset-cocktail strip, looking straight across at the Kato Mili windmills.

Practical

Walk down the steps from the windmills. Bars fill an hour before sunset in July-August, so arrive early or reserve. In any northwesterly the spray comes over the front tables, which is part of the fun. Expect Mykonos prices. From Tourlos, take the SeaBus or a taxi to the Old Port and walk 10 minutes. Also known as Alefkandra, which runs from Alefkandra beach toward the Kastro quarter (Greeka).
