Legrena Bay Anchorage

37° 39.6′ N · 23° 59.5′ E · approximate

A wide beach bay at the village of Legrena, about 2 nm west of Cape Sounion on the Saronic side. It is a lunch or swim stop off the Lavrio–Athens route.

Practical

Greek Wikipedia warns that a seaward approach needs care because submerged ledges run along almost the whole beach. The small harbour on the beach is a fishing shelter for small craft, with a launching ramp, regularised by the Lavrio Port Authority in 1988, and is not suitable for yachts. Depth, holding and protection were not verified from a pilot guide. The bay faces south, so it gives no shelter from southerlies. Coordinate is approximate: placed about 250 m south of the OSM Legrena-beach position in open water. Sound in carefully and anchor clear of the ledges.
