Klima Anchorage (Milos Bay)

36° 44.1′ N · 24° 25.1′ E

A daytime anchorage off the painted boathouses of Klima, just inside the entrance to Milos Bay, with the catacombs and ancient theatre on the hill above.

Practical

OpenSeaMap marks anchorage areas off Klima (pin). The spot lies just inside the north-west-facing bay entrance, so it can get lumpy in a strong northerly; it is best in light winds. Many rocks are charted close inshore along the Klima shore, so anchor in the marked area and approach slowly. Land the dinghy at the village slipways, keeping clear of fishing boats. For overnight shelter, move to Adamas or the southern bay anchorages.

Best for

A lunch stop under Klima's syrmata on the way in or out of Milos Bay

Season

Calm days; lumpy in a strong NW meltemi
