Kitriani Islet Anchorage (Sifnos)
36° 54.2′ N · 24° 43.6′ E
An uninhabited islet off Platis Gialos crowned by Panagia Kitriani, the oldest church on Sifnos (10th-11th century), with clear water for snorkelling and fishing.
Practical
SailingIssues: a difficult, fair-weather anchorage. Visit via the small mole under the church or anchor off the east shore. Swell gets in, and it is open from NE to SSW. Solid holding in sand, but low cliffs make lines ashore difficult. A reef lies on the east approach; C-Map shows it as awash. The church date is from the municipality.
Best for
Fair-weather snorkel and church visit
Season
