Ios Chora Bars

Ios's famous nightlife is packed into the lanes of Chora. Cocktail bars and late clubs fill the old town on summer nights, so the island is lively in a way Sikinos and Folegandros are not.

Position is the OSM Chora place node; the bars are spread through the lanes around it. Visit Ios says Chora 'hosts most of the night clubs of Ios'. Wikipedia describes Ios as a 1970s backpacker party island that has since become a mass-tourism resort. It gets loud and late in July-August. Getting back to the boat: walk down to Gialos (under 2 km) or take a taxi. The Municipality of Ios lists taxis 1, 2, 3, 5 and 7 (for example +30 697 873 4491, +30 698 568 9849, +30 697 776 0570); verify numbers locally. Keep an anchor watch if you leave the boat in the bay during a meltemi night.
