Glaronisia Islets (Milos)
36° 45.8′ N · 24° 29.2′ E
A group of rocky islets off the north-east coast made of tall columnar volcanic rock, like stacked organ pipes, and home to seagulls (the name means 'seagull islands').
Practical
Greeka: formations of large pentagonal and hexagonal columns, said to have formed around 700,000 years ago; tour boats slow down here for photos; swimming is possible but watch the sharp rocks. Exposed to the north, so a calm-weather sightseeing pass; do not anchor close in. Combine with Papafragas and Pollonia.
Best for
A slow sail-by for the columnar rock
