Galissas Beach (Syros)

37° 25.3′ N · 24° 52.7′ E

A long Blue Flag sandy beach in a horseshoe bay on the sheltered west coast, backed by the resort village of Galissas with tavernas, beach bars and minimarkets.

Practical

Position from Wikidata/OSM. OSM tags it Blue Flag with a 3-star EU bathing-water rating, sand. Kavas and Grecosailor reviewers call the water crystal-clear; a buoyed swimming zone covers the inner bay in summer, so anchor outside it (see Galissas Bay). Wikivoyage: about 20 minutes by direct bus from Ermoupoli. Ashore: Annetta minimarket and FROG convenience store (open 10 am-9 pm per OSM). See Iliovasilema (Galissas) and Savvas Taverna (Galissas). Armeos beach is the quieter cove at the south end.

Best for

Sandy family beach and village evening

Season

Jun–Sep; exposed to W–SW
