Firopotamos Bay (Milos)
36° 45.5′ N · 24° 25.7′ E
A tiny, deep-green cove on the north coast with a white chapel on the point, a few syrmata boathouses and the arches of an old mining building. It is one of the most photographed coves on Milos.
Practical
OpenSeaMap marks an anchorage in the cove (pin). Greeka: a small pebbly bay with a semi-organised beach bar (a July 2024 reviewer found no bar operating), rock-cut stairs to the shore, and old arched ruins above. The cove faces north, so it is a calm-weather or southerly-wind stop only, untenable when the meltemi blows. Space is very limited and swimmers fill it in summer; anchor outside the swimming area and take a line ashore only if space allows.
Best for
A morning or calm-day swim stop on the north coast
Season
Calm days or southerlies; open to the meltemi
