Feast of Panagia Tourliani & Tinos Pilgrimage (15 August)
37° 26.8′ N · 25° 23.5′ E · approximate
On 15 August Mykonos celebrates its patron, Panagia Tourliani, at Ano Mera, while neighbouring Tinos draws thousands of Orthodox pilgrims to its great Panagia church. Ferries, harbours and anchorages across the channel are packed.
Practical
Wikivoyage: around 15 August most Piraeus/Rafina ferries stop at Tinos and fill up, so book crew ferry tickets early. Greek holiday crowds also peak around Pentecost (late May or early June). Expect Tinos harbour to be impossible that week. Position is the Tourliani monastery (approximate for an island-wide event).
