Ermoupoli Port Authority (Syros)

37° 26.5′ N · 24° 56.5′ E · approximate

Syros Port Police (Limenarchio, Hellenic Coast Guard) runs the busiest ferry and commercial port in the Cyclades. Boats report here, and in Syros they do check yachts' papers.

Practical

Coordinate is approx: it marks the central Ermoupoli waterfront by the yacht quay, not the office door, so ask the harbourmaster for directions. Call VHF 12 before entering harbour. Have ready the registration, insurance, crew list, passports, and the eTEPAI cruising-tax receipt. Non-EU yachts also need the Transit Log (applied for online via myAADE before arrival). Non-EU crew arriving from outside Schengen need a port with passport control; confirm in advance that Syros can clear you in, since the area guide lists Lavrio as the usual first stop. Emergencies: Coast Guard 108, EU 112, VHF 16. Olympia Radio (Greek coast radio) broadcasts Cyclades weather on VHF 04.
