Athens International Airport Eleftherios Venizelos (ATH)
37° 56.2′ N · 23° 56.8′ E
Greece's main international airport (opened 2001), roughly equidistant from the Lavrio and Alimos charter bases. Ferries from Rafina and Piraeus reach all the Cyclades.
Practical
Lavrio/Olympic Marine is about 30 minutes by road. Alimos is about 20 minutes by taxi (Kavas) or about an hour by shuttle in traffic (Dream Yacht guide). The X96 express bus runs every 20–30 minutes to Piraeus via Alimos ('1st Kalamakiou'), Flisvos ('Floisvos') and Zea. Metro Line 3 also serves the airport, but only some trains run through, about every 36 minutes. Wikivoyage lists a fixed taxi fare to central Athens of €40 by day and €60 at night, including tolls (year not stated; verify locally). Kavas quoted private transfers to Alimos at €80 for up to 5 people and €100 for up to 12. Major car-hire firms are at the terminal.
