Acropolis & Parthenon
37° 58.3′ N · 23° 43.6′ E
The citadel of ancient Athens and the Parthenon, the 5th-century-BC temple of Athena. It is the obvious half-day before or after a charter out of Alimos, Flisvos or Zea.
Practical
Wikivoyage (2025): open 8am–8pm in summer (Apr–Aug), with earlier sunset-linked closing in winter (down to 5pm in December). Last entry 30 minutes before closing. Full ticket €30, reduced €15. Timed-entry tickets have been mandatory since 1 April 2024, so buy online in advance. The Acropolis Museum needs a separate ticket (€20). Wear shoes with grip on the polished marble, and go at opening time in summer heat. From Alimos, take the tram to Syntagma, then walk.
