Apokofto Beach (Sifnos)

36° 56.4′ N · 24° 44.7′ E

A turquoise sand bay just east of Chrysopigi, with only two tavernas on the sand: one of the classic Sifnos lunch anchorages.

Practical

SailingIssues prefers the cove in milder conditions or SE to N winds. Larger catamarans and superyachts take lines ashore at Cape Charalampos in its NE corner. Chrysopigi Tavern is ashore. mySea's anchorage point off this coast (36.93873 N, 24.74629 E) gives 3-8 m over weed with moderate holding, plus waves and strong gusts in the meltemi. SailingIssues itineraries list it as an overnight from Kythnos (41 nm from Flampouria). The paved footpath runs from here to Glyfo and Faros (municipality).
