Andros Route 2: Chora to Vourkoti via Apikia

From Chora's harbour up the Lourion river to Apikia, Katakalei and the mountain village of Vourkoti, circling Mt Petalo through dense green scenery with cobbled sections and plenty of water.

6.8 km, 2.5 hours, moderate (7.8 km and 3 hours with the 2a detour to the Pythara waterfalls); maximum altitude difference 419 m. Drinking water in Apikia, Katakalei and Vourkoti; food in Apikia and Vourkoti in summer only. Connects with Route 8 (Stenies and Gialia beach), Route 12 (Arni) and Route 6 (Achla).
