Ampelos Islet Anchorage (Fabrika, Syros)

A turquoise lunch anchorage tucked behind the small islet off Fabrika, at the east end of Vari bay. It is reached through a narrow south channel past a breakwater light.
Practical
Sailingissues: enter by the south channel between the islet and Syros, keeping close to the breakwater light; the narrow width is given only as '25' (units not stated; read it as 25 m and go slowly with a bow lookout). Anchor in 3.5-4.5 m with good holding. The guide calls it a lunch stop with turquoise water, 'not overly pretty'. The OSM chart shows rocks east of here toward Aspronisi. The Port Fund's Fabrika dock is local fishing only.
