37° 4.5′ N · 25° 20.8′ E

A 1.5 km arc of golden sand and clear water, repeatedly Blue Flag-awarded and regularly listed among the best beaches in Greece. The northern end by the chapel stays calm even in the meltemi.

Practical

Greeka: mostly organised with sunbeds and umbrellas; beach bars and watersports at the south end; the unorganised north end near the chapel is quieter. A small pinkish salt lake behind it attracts birds (see Alyki Lagoon Wetland (Naxos)). Bus line 1 from Chora; 6 km from the port. For anchoring off the beach see Agios Prokopios Anchorage (Naxos). Blue Fin Divers is on the beach. Some reviewers mention wind, crowds and no public toilets. Position: OSM beach relation centroid.
