Agios Georgios Beach (Folegandros)

36° 39.9′ N · 24° 51.6′ E

A mostly sandy north-coast beach with pines and a chapel, reached by dirt road from Ano Meria. Lygaria beach is 500 m before it.

Practical

Position from folegandros.gr. The beach is quite exposed to the meltemi in summer, so it is a southerly-weather swim. No services. Kastelos, a prehistoric (Early Cycladic II) settlement on a small rocky peninsula, is nearby on the north coast (36.6667N 24.8568E, folegandros.gr). Serfiotiko, one of the island's hardest beaches to reach, is also on this coast and only suits southerly weather.

Best for

A southerly-weather swim on the north coast

Season

Southerly weather only
