Agia Anna & Kalafatis Bay (Mykonos)

37° 26.0′ N · 25° 25.2′ E

The big southeast-coast bay at Kalafatis, with Agia Anna's sand-and-weed anchorage tucked in its western corner. The meltemi blows offshore here, which is why windsurfers love it.

Practical

Agia Anna: anchor in 4-5 m on sand and weed (Sailingissues). It's protected from the etesian (meltemi) winds (Aegean Islands guide). Kalafatis, the eastern part at 37.44014, 25.42325: a reef marked by small buoys lies about 200 m off the beach, and the little fishing harbour is too shallow for yachts. The bay is open to the SE. Sailingissues warns that C-Map and the Greek Waters Pilot plot Agia Anna, Kalo Livadi and Elia in the wrong positions; Eagleray, OpenSeaMap and Garmin are correct. Greeka's 'good for snorkelling' Agia Anna page describes the other Agia Anna, near Paraga (see Agia Anna (Paraga) Snorkel). Spilia restaurant sits in the sea cave here. Ashore are tavernas, the Divounia fishing hamlet with two fish tavernas, and a bus to Chora a few times a day.

Best for
