Vaiare Fuel Station (jerrycan)

17° 31.6′ S · 149° 46.6′ W

A roadside Mobil service station facing the Vaiare (Patae) anchorage, next to the Champion shopping centre, used for jerrycan diesel and petrol.

Practical

Jerrycan service only (no fuel dock); land at Vaiare Marina or the adjacent beach and walk. A second station (Shell) is across the bay from the ferry dock, near car and scooter rentals, a hardware store, ATM and bank. For a dinghy-accessible pump, use the Paopao fuel dock in Cook's Bay. Hours (Soggy Paws, Sept 2021; verify locally): Mobil Sunday–Monday 6am to 8pm, Tuesday–Saturday 6am to 9:30pm; Shell (near the ferry dock, +689 40 55 02 02) daily 6am to 6:30pm. Mobil also sells cooking gas (see Vaiare Cooking Gas).
