Papeete Port of Entry – Border Police (STPAF, Faa'a Airport)
17° 33.4′ S · 149° 36.7′ W · approximate
For yachts arriving in or leaving from Tahiti or Moorea, passports are handled by the border police (STPAF) office at Tahiti-Faa'a airport rather than by a gendarmerie brigade.
Practical
Coordinates are the airport (Tahiti Heritage); the office is in the terminal. Official 2026 procedure (DPAM): on arrival from abroad in Tahiti or Moorea, see Customs at the Papeete port office and Border control at the STPAF office at Faa'a airport, +689 40 80 06 00, dtpn987-stpaf-poste@interieur.gouv.fr. Bring every crew member's passport/visa, the vessel registration, and the certificate of submission of your online single pleasure-craft declaration (demarches-simplifiees.fr). Before any departure to a foreign port from Tahiti or Moorea, clear out here too. Tahiti Cruisers Guide lists hours Mon–Fri 8am–12pm and 1:30pm–4pm (phone +689 40 80 06 05; verify). A cruiser review (noforeignland) says check-out takes about 15 minutes and all crew must attend.
